As a state-run public school, the Mbeya Secondary School currently teaches about 1,500 girls and boys. As early as 2013, the school supported us in the design of the scholarship program. In the following year we supported the first scholarship holders at this school. A special feature of this school is every Friday afternoon when all the students and teachers gather. This creates a collective and solidarity marketplace where every student who is short of materials such as pencils, paper or even clothes such as shoes or shirts can address this publicly. These girls and boys are then supported, if possible, by fellow pupils or the teaching staff. The secondary school in Mbeya also has a partnership with the Mintroc Academy in Scotland.
