Rachel was born around the turn of the century in Makambako. When she was four, her parents and her three younger siblings parted, and they were divided, as is often the case in Tanzania, within the whole family, so she grew up with her aunt. Rachel is the only one in her family who is allowed to attend a secondary school. In order to finance all four children a more advanced education, the family unfortunately lacks the money. Rachel attends the Emmaberg Girls Secondary School and would like to dedicate herself to her school with the support of our scholarship. Her motivation to take care and to learn in school lies in her understanding of education. For her, education means a good preparation for a better life. Rachel is one of our scholarship years 2014 and 2015.
